Everyone can have beautiful, healthy, and younger looking skin, and DermTV, the Internet's daily skincare video show, will demonstrate how by revealing expert tips and techniques and by providing real solutions for real skincare issues.

Skincare (whether cosmetic or medical) previously required a trip to your dermatologist or a shopping spree at the pharmacy. And that's if you have a trusted nearby dermatologist or a local informed pharmacy. But not anymore. We at DermTV are committed to making best-in-class dermatology and skincare guidance accessible to everyone, anytime, at your computer.

Every weekday, our host, Dr. Neal Schultz, one of New York's most trusted and respected dermatologists (see bio below), teaches skincare's most timely and timeless issues. Topics include: the best at home techniques and new technology for facial rejuvenation, preventing and fixing sun damage from wrinkles to skin cancer, breaking news in dermatology, general skincare topics, and more.

  • why is it that some of my non inflamitory acne lesions aka comodones sometimes turn into tender red papules or pustules?

  • @thegame245 Any time fluid-like materials in your body are stagnant as opposed to flowing, they are prone to becoming infected. The sebum/oil in your comedones is subject to the same rule so if it's there long enough, it can get infected and morph into a puss-filled, inflammatory legion. However, inflammatory legions do not change into comedones.

  • so does topical washes get red of the white heads and black heads while pils get rid of the cyst?

  • @bloodfalcon7722: Yes, that's correct. Topical products are more effective for treating non-inflammatory whiteheads and blackheads while oral medication is best to treat cysts.

  • Neil- i have a normal t-zone and dry everywhere else. I never get multipule pimples in one spot, but my acne is symmetrical. I have never had a blackhead or a whitehead. when i went on a cruies i got a sunburn on my face and my acne cleared up, whats the reason for that? oh and my mother wont let me take pills for acne since she was allergic and had a terrible reaction to them. What should i use for my skin? how ami breaking out if my skins dry?

    Thanks-N

  • @XoNatalieXo5227: In regards to your breakouts and dry skin, dry skin is an absence of water and is not related to the excess of oil involved in acne. They are two independent conditions.

  • Does chocolate worsen acne?

  • I feel like chocolate makes my acne worse. I know that it doesn't cause acne, but can it worsen it?

    Regards,

    Daniel

  • @MJamal55 antibiotics alone will not get rid of acne. You have to address your acne from the inside out and get to the cause or else it will not go away quickly. When our bodies contain too many toxins they want to get rid of them to prevent disease. Your body gets rid of the toxins through the holes in the largest organ of your body, the skin. Where is the place where there is the most congestion of pores? The face and chest, where does 99% of acne occur? msg me if u want good resources.

  • I have Blackheads am I supposed to pick those out of my face or not?

  • lets say my acne is cystic and inflammatory, antibiotics will help but i cant stay of them forever? usually u take antibiotics for a few days then your done...what then?...i get alot of cysts and ingrown hairs on my face(male) should i ask my dermatologist about accutane?

  • If you take antibiotics , how long would it take for it to work and get rid off acne?

    PLEASE REPLY

  • is it ok to apply acne scrubs before you put pimple treatments in your skin? i heard that scrubbing your face doesn't help and can only worsen the irritation?

  • does accutane stops oil forever or only a certain amount of time?

  • so what do you recommend me to do to reduce bacteria on my skin because i mostly get red acne
