"and I need you more that want you and I want you for all time." What a fantastic line. Nothing like it in today's music. Fabulous performances...how wonderful that technology lets us hear this music so many years later. Thank you Kevin for posting this!

I love this song. I think YouTube is changing the world by giving everyone access to all the beautiful music and rare performances on here. How else would the average person see a performance like this 25yrs later. Everyone especially young people could be inspired by rare performances like this no matter where they live and turn into musical greats themselves. It allows us a window into the past to see who the people who's names we may have heard and how great they really were in their prime.

First time I've ever heard Webb play it himself, and the piano lines are really incredible. Beautiful! Thanks so much for posting...

Endhai, I agree with you... I really liked a lot of songs by Linda Ronstadt, but as she put it once, she's a "belter." Ruined a lot of good songs for me. Love her singing when it's more sculptural and appropriate to the song. Really love this song by Jimmy Webb. He writes the most incredible lyrics of all time. What a gift.

I have only recently discovered this Jimmy Webb gem. I think this is the most heart achingly beautiful song I have ever heard. Through the genius of YouTube, I have been checking out the many different versions of this song. Jimmy's piano playing is the best but I don't particularly care for his vocals. That's okay, Jimmy knows where his true talent lies. Thanks for posting this video Kevin.

    Yes I agree with you!

Linda just cries out these high notes so terrible loud instead OF SINGING THEM!

This is not necessary for so a fragile and soft song, I think!

If Radka Tonnef could have played with Jimmy, this would have been a very heartbreaking version...I like his piano lines so much.
