  • I met Jerry last year when my son, who has a form of MD. He was wonderful. James my son, passed away May 30th, was 7. This song will forever make me cry. God bless you Jerry, and thank you for the wonderful thing you do for your kids.

  • Jerry Lewis is not a well man right now. I hope he is doing better and that he is around for a long time to come. We need more people like him.

  • Impossible not to cry when he sings that song...

  • @mightymegan111 Megan, your son is being held by Jesus now. No fear,no pain and no suffering. While here with us,Jerry Lewis and the MDA was the next best thing. Little soldier fell in the battle but will never be forgotten. Nor will Mr Lewis.

  • @9162vb48 It is appalling that you would cast aspersions on MR Jerry Lewis for all that he is doing for these unfortunate children. Jerry Lewis is an ICON of the MDA telethon. As of this moment,I REFUSE to contribute any of my moneys to MDA until they allow MR Lewis the reward due him. Regardless of his "spastic" comedic style,he was AND IS the driving force behind MDA. The Telethon will suffer because of this loss.

  • Google “insanity in America.”

One of the first articles listed is by John Chuckman.

Chuckman refers to a Harvard Medical School study that concluded that 26.4% of all adult Americans have some form of mental illness -- America having more mental illness, *by far,* than any other country!

What does this have to do with Jerry Lewis’ enormous popularity? With Jerry Lewis being hailed as “a great person”? … The answer should be obvious.

  • "THOSE CHILDREN (Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton) ARE BEGGING FOR HELP! THEY'RE SAYING: "I'M FUCKED UP, WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME!"

… Jerry Lewis on Lindsay Lohan being arrested.

Of course that's precisely what Jerry is saying -- "I'm fucked up, please help me!" ... That's the whole point of his involvement in the MDA telethons -- to compensate for his sick need for infantile attention.

As for smacking anyone, millions of people would like to smack Jerry Lewis -- for obvious reasons.

  • The elevation of scandals that involve people like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton to front-page stories is a by-product of the breakdown of civility in American society.

Now, here's a question for you. .. Who was one of the "pioneers" in the breakdown of civility in the American culture? Who burst on the scene in the 50s acting like a maniac, walking around like a spastic and expecting people to consider that funny, insulting people left and right onstage and on his telethons?

  • @islandman24 yeah, but they just announced that the mda telethon has been cut to just 6 hours!

  • This was a record breaking year for Jerry.

  • I am 16 years old and have been watching Jerry's telethon for as long as I can remember. His rendition of this beautiful song has always made me cry. This year, he could barely get through it, that's how hard he was sobbing. My heart is filled with so much love for him and all that he has done for his kids. May God bless him every day that he continues to search for a cure. And may no child with muscular dystrophy or adult with ALS walk alone through the storm. XOXO

  • a TRUE HERO
