@simon44 focus is making the picture sharp and clear, A nice focus is when the thing you wanting to film is clear and the background is nice and blury. Aperture is how much light the lens is taking in.

this was so great! I inherited an OLD Canon SLR from back when ISO didn't exist (so it doesn't help me but I still found it fascinating). Now I understand how to read my camera and adjust everything so I can take better pictures with it.
