Charles Chaw, managing director of business consulting firm and publisher China Knowledge, talks with Bloomberg's Paul Gordon from Singapore about earnings from Baidu.com Inc. and Sina Corp., and the outlook for growth in China's Internet market. Baidu, China's most-used search engine, said first-quarter net income rose 14-fold as advertising sales closed the gap on those of Sina. Sina, the nation's biggest Internet portal, posted a 32 percent decline in profit on costs for stock-based compensation and product development. Chief Executive Officer Yan Wang resigned.
