The Merkur I recall was a 1980s attempt for Ford Europe models to be sold in the US in the late 1980s. I due suspect the other Sierras did not get a look in due to the Tempo/Topaz.
While the XR4Ti was only available in 3-door hatchback form with a 2.3L 4-cylinder unit, the Sierra could be had in a wide variety of flavors overseas, with engines ranging from 1.3L to 5.0V8 (limited production in South Africa). Bodystyles were 3 and 5 door hatchback, 4-door sedan, station wagon and pickup (P100)
