November Month of Thanks by MESA

November is a great time with lots of holiday festivities, food, and fun. November is also the month of giving "thanks," and being thankful for what we have. With this in mind, MESA would like to present a three-part event this coming month.

- Week 1: Nov 1st-5th - Ronald Mcdonald House Nickel Drive
o We will be placing little collection boxes all over Coffman Memorial Union. Please feel free to donate any coins or pop tabs, proceeds will go to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities.

- Week 2: Nov 8th-12th - Lupus Foundation Cloth Drive
o We will be placing collection boxes for people affected by Lupus
o Please donate clothes, unused toiletries, anything will help
o This week's event was inspired by the story of Samantha Wayne, you can find her Lupus Awareness video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG_Vs8lM76k
o For every article of clothing you bring in, make sure to receive a raffle ticket for our grand prize!!!!!

- Week 3: Nov 15th-19th -Second Harvest Heartland Food Drive
o As a member of Hunger-Free Minnesota and Feeding America, Second Harvest Heartland Food Drive takes donations and distributes them to local homeless shelters, women's shelters, food shelves, and soup kitchens.
o Please bring canned goods and any other unused non-perishable items for donation. We will be collecting food from boxes in Coffman at the end of the week.
o For every can or food item you bring in, make sure to get a raffle ticket for our grand prize!!!!!

We would like to thank you in advance for helping to make these hard times a little bit easier for those in need. Please keep an eye out for any updates on these MESA events.
