  • Damn! 191 kg snatch from Rybakou and 240 CJ from Aramnau?!?!?

Crazy lifts. Those should be world records. They didn't count? Could anyone answer please . . .

  • It doesn't count because it wasn't a tested competition. Also, Andrei Aramnau was not weighing under 105kg at the competition.

  • @coachfears look at the current lifts from the world championships, also the majority of lifters are not that high like the best, where as during the soviet reign most of them were around that range. 30 years of progression you would expect a lot more improvement if everyone was juicing. Strength is the principal factor for success in weightlifting, but it is not the only one. Hard work, genetics, motivation and training methods are all an integral part in creating a world class athlete.

  • 40 kg might be a little exageration. The best total ever by taranenko was 210+266=476 kg total. 2008 Matthias Steiner 203+258=461. That is a 15 kg difference, not a 40 kg difference. Also, Rezazadeh was not that far off from Taraneko's totals in the 2000-2004 run that he had.

I still doubt that an 85er who can only manage 115 kg is juicing. If he is... that's just sad.

  • @JacktheDaniels the comment was implying all these athletes juice well the guys who are doing that weight might also yet they don't put up the weights the best do. The best are the best due to hard work simple as that. The hw totals at last year worlds were nearly 40kg under what soviet guys were doing in the 80's despite huge improvements in restorative techniques, better equipment/bars, smarter training, legal supps ext. These guys train 3x a day for 10 years to get where they are.

  • @JacktheDaniels i agree. i know a couple of kids 16-19 years old even in lighter classes who can snatch that on a regular basis

  • @JacktheDaniels

I don't mean to say that 115 kg snatch @ 85 sucks or anything, it's still a great display of power and speed.

I just think that any fairly athletic guy who sits well at 85 kg could get a 115 kg snatch with a few good years of training, and no drugs.

It certainly isn't international elite level type-stuff.

  • @desembodic

I dunno about that - 115kg snatch @ 85 kg bodyweight isn't that hard to achieve without drugs.

If someone needs to juice to achieve that, he probably picked the wrong sport.

  • Rybakou snatches like a lifter who competes in the -105 kg category lol

  • @desembodic go talk to a coach that has been around at olympic level, because you obviously have no fucking idea what your on about.
