my father fooled me first,
a catholic baptism

my mother fooled next,
a sunday school lutheran

together they fooled me
with santa coming to town

tv fooled me fully
and filled me with a fib

public school fooled me,
passed me along

u.s. navy fooled me
joined it and drank

ayn rand fooled me, too,
i wanted to be fooled

money fooled me with
a stairway to heaven

rock-n-roll fooled me
too tough to die

To Mega Therion fooled me
with a Word

bakeries fooled me
six days a week

ex-wife fooled me with the
fuck-n-run, fuck-n-run

blue skies! forever,
this fool shuttlecock fell for that, too

and although i'm in a wizard's heaven now
what a goddamn fool i've been

  • nice one.

  • danke

  • I like this poem. Great job!

  • :-)

  • This was a really great video!

I was just lamenting (yet again) about a word from a once dear friend, which fooled me. Allowed me to displace my rudimentary center for another's perceived agony. Spilling over out of myself & against the world I was lost and never regained. Fooled by a word that wasn't my own. I do my best (and am successful at times) reframing my past & the isness of what is.

In Wizard's Heaven it's time to innovate again. forever amen

  • Glad you liked it, Mike. amen

I guess this is the deal,

    nicely put

  • well, a certain amount of skepticism perhaps but i hear what you're saying. i allow myself to be fooled and fall for things. you're right, explanations never really satisfy either.

    cheers

  • You're implying that you've realized the truth, so what is it?

Oh that's right, skepticism - the smug, perpetual kind - is the new religious dogma; replacing it as the primary tool of social control and survival. Always the promise of an explanation, never the delivery of one.

    Never mind. Forget I asked.

  • i'm bullet/fool-proof now, Mike.

    we won't get fooled again
