Glassworks: Opening, for piano composed by Philip Glass (1937 - ) Jeremy Wright, piano -- August 11th, 2009 Community Bible Church of Northern Westchester Ossining, NY
Re.comments below, yes, quavers played by one hand vs triplets by the other, 2 against 3. I find that when you play this piece, you need to go into a type of 'autopilot mode', just channel it & let it flow for that 2 against 3 rhythm to happen. Try not think about it otherwise you will probably lose that flow.
Opening is one of slower pieces as compared with the other, for example: Rubric, Koyaanisqatsi OST etc. is one of most expressive and noisy. Opening is typical piano work, well it should be slow.

@douglassmcann Think of 1, 2and2, 1, 2and2, alternating left and right hands

@adiexe
Philip Glas himself plays this piece veeery fast, I would not rush to judgement.
I do prefer the slower version though

It's too fast, but it is very good job.
