The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with a little something for all the Deadheads out there. Harvest Fest 2009. Mulberry Mountain. Friday, August 14, 2009. Cover of 'Dark Hollow'
@missouriexpat Thanks, dvrsweet1 for the info on the band. I'll always be a true fan of the guys. I have so many great memories especially in the 70's. I was a regular 'Groupie' following their concerts all over the Midwest as a college student. Vassar Clements & John Hartford were with them often back then & I can't get used to seeing them without him being there too. Glad to know there was no 'falling out'!
@missouriexpat Ibby's left the band again. Reasons seems to vary, depending on who a person asks. He got tired of touring, I think. He mentioned in an interview somewhere that he didn't like playing the same songs over and over. Plus there's talk of a metal implant that kept causing metal detectors to go off when they traveled by plane, which meant being detained frequently at airports. I actually like the quartet, myself, but Ibby had a unique energy, no doubt.
Where's Ibby??!!! The "Fire" seems to have gone out. I will always be a fan, as I've been since the 70's, but it makes me terribly sad to see the band performing without him!!
