I had me appointment at the National Hospital For Neurology and Neuro-surgery Queen Square London yesterday. This video is about that appointment and about a article the neurologist thought I would find helpful. Actually it is very revealling because it teaches doctors to lie to their patients. Here is the link http://www.acnr.co.uk/pdfs/volume4issue6/v4i6reviewfunctional.pdf

Sorry this is a long video. My speech is quite bad at the moment.

    SANDMAN

  • Hi Sandman, I saw a doctor who specialises in Lyme Disease a couple of days ago. Very thorough. With him for hour and a half. Said he couldn't believe that the neurologists could seriously say I have no neurological symptoms! He has made a clinical diagnosis of Lyme, I now need to have some more tests. Away at the moment at my son's,I'll make a video soon.

  • i would say you should get them checked out just in case they are serious. There are some really good neurologists out there. You may not go through the same kind of treatment I have had. Please feel free to pm me if you want to talk. Paul

  • hey any news. I would like to know if you have done any blood tests to test for inflammation such as the Erythrocyte sedimentation rate or C reactive protein?

  • Hi Kaazoom. Just checking in to see how your feeling. Any new news on the Lyme? Hope your well and maybe dancing on the tables throwing back a few cocktails with your wonderful wife. Lucky man you are;-) Enjoy your day!

    Sandman Cast His Spell

  • I read that article teaching neurologists how to lie to patients as well. I'm so glad you weren't fooled by the 'functional' terminology. It's good you've met someone decent whose diagnosed you with Lyme Disease- will that Dr also be able to back you up for things like benefit forms and if not, do you have a sympathetic GP?

  • Oh Paul - I'm so sorry about all of this - I have read the document you refer to - it's so disingenuous it's difficult to know what to say. I went to first appointment at local CFS clinic today - had to add extra boxes to tick to their psych forms - unbelievably skewed - very bad science indeed....

  • The sweetest words I'm sure you've heard in a along time. "It's not all in your head" VALIDATION finally! Perseverence has paid off. You must be relieved the battle to find a knowledgeable Dr. who listened. Congrats!

Keep us all updated. Your on your way to get well;-)

PS I tried to post earlier and it didn't pop up.
