"JaMco Productions" was formed by Jack Benny to co-produce "CHECKMATE" (1960-'62) with Revue/MCA, while his "J&M Productions" unit continued to produce his own series. The idea was to create as many production units as possible- the better to share in the profits when those series were sold into syndication. But Benny sold out to MCA in 1962; his manager and executive producer, Irving Fein, later said Jack should have held off on the deal for at least two years, in order to make REAL money.
