Good video. And yes I've been that guy sparing like at the end who was accidentally knocked out and tweaked like that. Always fun coming to. NOT.

I enjoyed this video, and have watched it a few times now. Very informative, especially towards the end when you start flowing through each one (Im working on being able to visually identify techniques as I see them).I suppose I fall into the"guy who doesn't know alot"category, so it would have been nice since you mentioned at the beginning the difference between a blood choke and air choke,if you would have correctly identified which choke falls under which catergory as you went through them
I know its probably commen sense to advanced students, but I was recently told/taught that a rear naked is a blood choke, not an air choke, which went against what I have felt when put in one as I felt both (is it possible to have a choke that collapses the blood flow/airway?) Its hard to understand people sometimes in written form, and a lot of people talk mad sh:t on here, so with that said, I simply ask wanting to know the answer from someone I respect and can shoot me straight.Thanks.

@stoneface1099 The rear naked is technically a "blood" choke, as it is intended to cut of the carotid arteries. You will often times see it applied as an "air" choke when the choking arm doesn't make it all the way around the neck.
Obviously, when the choke is applied correctly the arm completely encompasses the neck. Therefore closing both carotid arteries AND the throat. So, yes it can technically be BOTH.

Question.. whats the difference between the brabo choke and a darce... I always learned that the brabo choke was a modified arm triangle from gaurd...

@Wrestlefan1 "Darce" is the incorrect pronunciation of Joe D'Arce's (pronounced D-R-C) last name. He used a Brabo choke a lot in tournaments. Uneducated people who didn't know that the choke was called a BRABO, started calling it a "darce". here is technically no such thing as a darce choke.
