I understand completely everything you said in this vid, and I hope the natural community doesn't jump on me for saying this, but I didn't have a choice. My mom permed my hair before I got to kindergarten b/c she said it was too much for her to handle. I've had it ever since. So for me this is kinda just what I'm comfortable with.

You are so right. It's sad that we as black Americans are looked at negatively; including our hair. I've been natural a year & six months. I also made the decision to love the hair that grows from my scalp. God made it that way, & I love it!! Great video, thanks for sharing..

You are so right! I don't think black people are oppressed when it comes to the "beauty world" anymore( thank God). We live in an age of tanning,spray tans, booty pads and God knows what else.

God made our hair so versatile. We can curl,crimp, and style it anyway we want! God is good...hair or no hair he is always good.

@iluvpinkandgold true. I tried natural hair, and have about 3 inches of relaxed hair still left because I do not want to do the big chop, but will continue to go natural as I have since Oct. 2010. Also, people should realize that putting a relaxer on the scalp is like putting an ointment on the skin...even w. the base, it can seep through and who knows the long-term health detriments of lye........I'm glad I am working towards health hair!
