  • If you go on Ebay and look up a 280Z ad from 1978 you will see that the Black Pearl in the ad has the same wheels as my car. These were not stock but a dealer option. Not only do I have the original dealer sheet showing that these wheels came as an option on my car, I also have an original dealer sheet for these wheels. So which wheels would you rather have? The stock wheels from the factory or the same dealer option wheels used in an origanal ad?

  • Follow this link and you will see!

If you look at an original commercial (whcih is easy to find) you will see the Black Pearl with factory wheels. I think I will stay with the wheels that came on my car as an option from the dealership!

  • u now what dude i do know classics i have 3 fords i completely restored two original cond showroom quality i take first plce at every car i have been two the 3 i have are a 1961 ford galexie a1963 ford sunliner and a 1963 ford starliner the starliner and sunliner arevery rare only 200 were made and i have a vary rare 1968 international travelall for sale only a 120 were made that year with thes options and i have the 119 one and al matching numbers !

  • So, on which of these did you add racing stripes and custom wheels to make them un-orignial? None I would suspect. With limited as those productions numbers I'm sure you kept them as original as possible right? Thats my point! Thanks for the comments! BTW, why are you 1fordhater if you restore Fords? And, why don't you have any videos or pictures posted of you show -winning classics? Just curious!!! Keep Cruisin'!

  • awesome 280 you got there...I just had a black pearl I was gonna buy sold out from under me while I went to the bank to get the money!

  • Thats too bad! Don;t you hate it when people do that?

These are AWESOME cars! I LOVE mine!

  • holycrap xtine. can't wait to see this in person.

  • I have a black pearl also. I have yet to find the original rims, but are those them? I dont think so... Aren't the rims kind of 4 spokes that are kind of standing on each other.

  • BTW, the 1978 Original Ad also features these Z wheels.

  • Also, the 1978 280z Ad featured the Black Pearl 280z WITH this red and silver stripe kit which is in the slideshow too! I guess I don't get why you would think of changing that! I guess you can tell I am passionate about my Z.

  • By the way, there were less then 1200 Black Pearl 280Z's made and much less of them with the original Black Pearl Sports Appearance Package with documentation. Why would I change that?
