Sorry if you don't agree, that's my opinion. The gameplay is horribly designed. When you die because you run into a bullet hidden behind a screen-sized explosion, or lose 90% of your life by hovering over a gun turret that looks no different from the background graphics, or can't navigate a screen filled with bullets because your ship controls badly, the gameplay is bad. I've played bad Genesis shooters that play better than this, and free shooters that play much better. 3/10 is being honest.

This game got everything right except the things that would make it fun to play. Graphics: 8/10, Music: 10/10, Sound: 9/10, Gameplay: 3/10. Sound can be a bit cheesy, music is great, graphics are beautiful but enemies and bullets mix too well sometimes. The ship controls poorly (accelerates to movement, decelerates to stop, making navigation difficult), and the weapons and combo system are unrewarding. On the plus side, the limited set is cheap now (~$10). Hopefully the sequel will be better. :)

scroll games like Raiden are harder than it looks. its actually more on score than anything else. being able to catch patterns is another thing. creating your own sequence is also part of high scoring. theres more to it than smashing one button.
