Bomb kills five Polish soldiers in Afghanistan

It is the deadliest single incident for Poland since it joined the NATO-led coalition there almost a decade ago.




The Taliban says it was behind the roadside bomb that blew up the troops' convoy in Ghazni province. It happened in a village where Polish forces have been involved in reconstruction work on historical sites.




Poland has some 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan. A total of 36 Polish troops have died there since Warsaw deployed its forces in the country in 2002.

Poland was one of the countries targeted by "operation mass appeal" from 1998 to get Poland to support UK and US in the UN because Poland wasn't supporting them.

It must have worked because Poland was one of the 4 countries that invaded Iraq in 2003.

...and as to the actual existence of the "the-Taliban" organisation... where the journalists make it apear... and make it seem as if Taliban representatives and spokes-people phone-in... or hand-deliver the Taliban's-announcement that it was them... becase it is too easy to just continue blaming the Taliban for whenever something explodes... and with so-many official-Taliban members dead and long gone... then I would not be surprised if it's the militery actors and role-players who are to blame
