RIAA Music Download Controversy!

The opinion expressed in this video does not encourage any criminal activity nor support illegally downloading music, motion pictures and television shows. Anyone who advocates the illegal downloading of music, motion pictures, and television could face criminal charges, lawsuits and seizure of your electronic devices. Penalties could reach up to $250,000 or five years (5) in prison.

In June 2009, a Minnesota mother has been ordered to pay over $1.92 million in damages.

In 2004, Mrs. Jammie Thomas-Rassett was the first of hundreds of illegal downloading lawsuits filed the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The movie industry and music industry are blaming peer-to-peer file sharing for the recent decline in television, radio, music sales, motion picture releases and the entertainment industry.

Rock, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, Reggae, Classical Rhythm and Blues, Popular Music, Oldies, Eclectic, Nursery Rhymes, and even food and television themes are under the RIAA.

The RIAA has been criticized harshly for the excess lawsuits.

Do two wrongs make a right?

Note: The purpose of the RIAA:

1. to protect intellectual property rights worldwide and the First Amendment rights of artists;
2. to perform research about the music industry;
3. to monitor and review relevant laws, regulations and policies.

Thanks to the subscribers, friends and supporters of the videos. To all critics, do me a favor: "Prove Me Wrong!"

PS- Bring factual evidence!

  • The recording industry is a bunch of fucking morons who should have adapted to the new technologies 10 years ago (when Napster was big), and blame each and every of their problems on "piracy". I think - and hope - that new distribution models as pioneered by, for example, Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead will hasten the demise of this morally bancrupt industry.

  • God, yeah, I concur, Mr. Beach. Yeah, the recording industry is a victim of its own incompetence and cynicism. As top 40 erodes, consumer sophistication has improved. The demand is for quality, and the industry delivers crap at an unreasonable price.

    Intellectual property rights claim to protect the artists and innovators. BS. It is about funnelling profits upwards while cutting thinner slices for artists. Anyone who knows the artists knows they get ripped off.

    You rock.

  • @blueswan...they set it up like that to profit out of people. It is a dog eat dog world and it sickens me.

  • @Decadence161 You better not disappoint! GET IN THERE AND KICK THERE ASSES with more competitive product, don't be limited to technologies that will only make you money and be afraid to venture into new ideas. Money sometimes holds industries back when it comes to innovation. that's why you have to not just give a fuck about cash, care only about passion. i know it takes money to run a business but don't try to get more than you need. it's either need or greed The record industry runs on greed

  • @Decadence161 artists make most of their money from concerts.

  • the reason why people pirate is simply because the industry has failed to offer services competitive with the pirating market. they do charge to much, and most people don't have that money. which is why this fucked up organization sues people.

  • THE FBI ANTI PIRACY WARNING SAYS THEY INVESTIGATE PIRACY This includes piracy without monetary reasons The FBI and the RIAA on their websites encourage people to report piracy.

    The FBI the RIAA and other anti piracy org. call piracy a crime of stealing Thousands of people have been sued and this RECORDED conversation was ignore. This is unfair to all the people that have been sued and had to pay.

  • I don't get it, if downloading stuff from the internet is illegal, why make the option available in the first place? Why not secured the option so that it would be legal like itune for example.

  • Music one day, long ago was an art. These days, it's away to make millions and sue every one! I hate big companies. -_-

  • UNFAIR While other people were being sued the RIAA and FBI ignored the following conversation A NC police officer named the name Kazaa discussing how the songs are arranged in groups and you just click and get them He said its the thing to do everybody is doing it He bet his daughters had downloaded a thousand songs on his computer He had to buy a new computer his old one FILLED UP WITH MEMORY He laughed and said he hoped the federal government did not come and investigate him

  • @Decadence161 I dont really see what the issue is with piracy anyway since most of the artists out there that i see are already extremely wealthy as it is. You are making it sound like they are poor and need to make a living when they are actually stinking rich. These artists already make way too much money compared to what they actually contribute to society. There are more important people in society such as doctors, engineers, architects etc. that make this world a better place.
