For Everyone's Information: The song is called "Oh leave me not to pine" and is sung by the character Mabel, a soprano, in Act II of "The Pirates of Penzance" by Gilbert & Sullivan, written in 1879. Joan Sutherland and Linda Ronstadt had a go at it, but Jude sings it perfectly for its spot in this film. What a poignant moment! and then there's that tongue....

I love this movie soooooo much, and I really didn't think I would 'cause I'm a total Wilde snob and I thought that inaccuracies would spoil it. The casting was AMAZING and Fry and Law had fantastic chemistry! This part always makes me crack up though, wholly on account of the way Law sings "fa-la-la" with his tongue - I joked to my friend that I was half expecting him to say "fa-la-la-la-latio"

@fungipie I totally agree with you

Jude Law looks like he's dying. Like: Heeeelp me I'm drowning here!

have you not seen the rest of the movie? You totally have to, cause he's so sweet in that film, needing hugs and crying and such. Also having sex with men. twas hot!
And the plot wasn't bad either.
