You only mentioned 2 chord types. There are 5. Major, Minor, Dominant, Diminished, and Augmented.

@twooffour I'm very glad to hear that!

Actually, the pipe organ is a very popular instrument, organ music and improvisation is constantly taught in music conservatories, and there are lots of videos of that on Youtube - improvisation, various arrangments, etc. etc.
The notion that the organ is somehow outdated or "not popular anymore" is complete nonsense :D

@LLJtbone It's amazing that there are still people out there who can play those old pipe organs like that! It's not very often you see an advert in the local newspaper for ''pipe organ hand/feet lessons''.

@PeterInglisGuitar most of those songs have the same chords as Canon in D lol

The Adagio is actually only attributed to Tomaso Albinoni but probably really written by his biographer Remo Giazotto and therefor from the 20th century!
Giazotto claimed that the composition is based on a fragment of a score from Albinoni that he found but he never produced the evidence until his death in 1998. read the wikipedia article on the piece for all the details.
A bit of a blip in an otherwise excellent documentation.

@wezos i meant when i was a beginner guitarist. My fingers just didn't wanna do chords. but scales and melody was easier. but now i'm fine with chords. maj7, minor, major, and minor 7. easy man.
-
@ZeppelinFloydRoses all chords are based on the scales.. if you know the scale, you can make the chord.
example, maj scale's 1st 3rd and 5th = maj chord. min scale's 1st 3rd and 5th = minor chord.. add the 7th of the scale, you got the maj7 chord, or the flat 7th, you got the 7 chord.. and so on

Scales aren't that bad. I had more trouble learning chords than scales.

That guy on the organ, holy crap!! That was amazing to see the footwork.

String instruments were experimented with in the 17c in an effort to create effective bass. The modern double bass only materialised in about 1800.
Contrary motion in the bass introduced. (Handel: "Largo" from "Xerxes", Albinoni: "Adagio", Pachelbel: "Canon in D", Coolie: "C U when U Get There", The Farm: "Altogether Now", Pet Shop Boys: "Go West", Nina Simone: "My Baby Just Cares for Me").
Scales!
