North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has indicated that he is willing to participate in international negotiations over his countrys nuclear program if he sees progress in bilateral talks with the U.S. Should the U.S. engage in one-on-one talks with North Korea? Does Mr. Kims statement make you optimistic that North Korea may reduce or end its nuclear development with further negotiations? Do you think the U.S. should remove economic sanctions on North Korea in exchange for an end to its nuclear weapons program?
the north koreans were/was probably are still bearing this grudge since the korean war, they wanna prove their powers once again(my hypothesis)

what's the problem with N. Korea having a nuclear program? US has over 6000 nukes themselves... is it any surprise that N Korea wants to be prepared? With America participating in WW1, WW2, Vietnam and now Iran and Afghanistan just so bankers can make money and we can get launch pads, oil and land it's no surprise N Korea and many other countries too. Americans are so dumb, you guys are talking about N Korea why don't you talk about your own country which can't even survive without going to war?

well we all know that aggrevating north korea doesnt work, last time talks where positive where under the clinton administration... sadly toward the end of it. Its a shame the bush administration didnt want to continue these positive talks with the North Korean leadership and this has lead to many years of strained relations between the US and the DPRK as also with the DPRK and its surrounding neighbours. The sunshine policy was a great gesture by the south, Bush didnt like that either blame him
