Hi,do you think by any chance you can post some vids of students playing i'd really love to hear more of what oberlin students sound like

I played Shostakovich sonata and the prelude to bach's 6th suite on the audition tape to heifetz- I don't know what the others played. I go to Oberlin, Sergien, Annalisa, and Katie go to CIM, and Matt goes to NEC. If you want to go to Heifetz you can still apply. They like really flashy stuff.

im wondering about college because i was wondering is the handel/casadesus concerto may be concidered too easy a concerto for conservatory audition repertoire im playing bach 3rd prelude also and probably the shubert arpeggione but i was what you thought since you probably made it into oberlin no problem

I think the handel/casadesus would be fine for Oberlin. They just want to hear you at your best. The Bach and Schubert are good. good luck!

thts awesome what did you play to get into oberlin? was it around the same difficulty?
sheepbird 3 years ago
I played the prelude to Bach's 3rd Suite, The first movement of Brahms F minor, and the first movement of Walton. Heifetz has a broader age range, so the difficulty of getting in is hard to compare.

Of course, Oberlin is an amazing school for both a conservatory and a college education.
