my dad and grandparents have been there they all agree that it was wonderful

@MrPlanx Yeah, I would agree with that.

@Antiks72 - My point is that it really isn't overpriced when you consider what you are getting. You can pay half as much for some mediocre chain steakhouse that you won't even remember a week later. You will probably remember the meal you had at the French Laundry for the rest of your life.

@MrPlanx I spend a lot less than that on excellent Mexican food made by real Mexicans. This isn't an everyday food for people who work, it's a niche restaurant for rich people.

Honestly considering taking a vacation to Napa Valley from Illinois, simply to dine at The French Laundry!

I used to work there (reservations). Great experience. At the very end of the video, you see an older gentleman in a white shirt and cap, that's Thomas' dad. That man can talk your ear off for hours, he's a great guy :)

@nmac121 i think this is his first successful restaurant... not a great business man
This place is very expensive, however is probably one of the finest resturants in the world. The price is $240 per person. Granted thats a lot of money for food. However you got to love these people that base resturant food on how much food they get. To them, the food can be just ok in taste just as long as it is served on a platter size plate and is enough for 4 people to eat. Maybe thats most of America is overweight. Ive tasted some of his food. It is amazing.

The price is quite reasonable given the amount of labor that goes into these dishes. Funny how the same person who complains about spending $250 for a four hour presentation of some of the finest food in the world, has no problem spending $80 on crap made by Mexicans at a chain restaurant.
