Same here, Holly. She lived to nearly 18 and was a wonderful cat. I was 7 or 8 when I got her as a kitten and I didn't know any better than to let her be outside. Frankly, I wasn't as empathic or compassionate back then and wouldn't have cared about the birds. Yeah, I was a bit of an S.O.B. for the first 1/3 of my life. :(

(reply to AA) - I agree 100%. My neighbors all let their cats run "free", and they gravitate toward my yard because of all the birds. I keep a super-soaker by my back door - it's saved a few baby birds so far this year already. :/
I've only had one "outdoor" cat - when I was a kid. Again, if people insist that their cat to be able to enjoy the outdoors, leash-training isn't difficult. Another solution is a screened enclosure.
...Darn TTF. He got my hackles up. :P

As far as I know cats just don't like the smell of it - or something to that effect...

i'd like to take some classes/courses on sword fighting, samurai style... i have a weponsgrade Katana that i could use to chop some tatami matt's or melons :D...
i really like all about samurais... (at least i think i do.. u know a kids dream)

Become your neighbour eh? Yea why not. We could have some cat killing expeditions (I like animals but I don't think cats are scientifically classed as animals, more the spawn of the dark one Himself!)
