China has a bubble economy. They are living on credit creation. Loan growth in that country is close to 50%. When credit contracts you get deflation. China has overcapacity and overproduction. Their banks are insolvent. The only down side to this is that they are probably going to sell dollars in the coming years as the deflation worsens. Not good for americans.
2.5% points of 12% growth in 2007? He totally misses Hugh's point about real estate bubble. The bulk of other 10% is mostly construction investment.

Lets have a look at 2002 figures. China's GDP growth was 8% that year. China's surplus with the US was 7% of GDP.
So once again you have no clue. Go have a look at Japan and the deflation that has been going on there for over a decade.
