No Tae Kwon Do is not a "Sport Style" of this. TKD is TKD and TSD is TSD. They both have there roots in TaeKyon and Shotokan Karate and are both Korean so they have similarities but they are styles in themselves.
As for it not being the person but being the instructor...There are no absolutes or guarantees in life! A bad instructor will not produce a good student but the student must be good too and willing to learn. Also different people do suit different systems, my advice is try some!
The moves r powerful but they r not designed to be quick. And u dont need alot of power to kock someone out if you know the right areas, a granny with a purse could own someone if she wacked them in the head in the right spot. Im still impressed by their kicks tho
So... Is tae kwon do just the sport version of this style? Also, im tired of ppl giving thr argument of "it all depends on the person" when it comes to training martial arts. This is incorrect, it all depends on the teacher. If you have a good teacher you will learn to think like them maybe even learning to think outside the box. However youre only as good as the tools u r given for self defense and i have to say that IMO this art would be fully effective for self defense. Its speed that ends t
this is so cool! ive just started tang soo do recently and realy want to continue it ive just brocken my first board today and am realy motivated to continue this style
@akrocuba People seem to ignore the fact that everybody has strengths and weaknesses. Not every 10th degree black belt in anything is gonna fight the same, even in the same dojo under the same master. You can't do any flashy shit unless is the right time, which isn't gonna be common. What you see in stand up MMA is what a lot of styles, like tang soo do, tae kwon do, karate, and kung fu, are also taught similarly. It's not the style, it's the individual.
