Mario Kart Wii - May 9 08 C

As the races go on, an it seems that only a few people are winning races, Nintendo's servers look for people with VRs higher than yours, it seems, to give a challenge. After long enough, I found myself surrounded by bikes.

Nevertheless, this session allowed my VR to surpass 7000. I'm movin' on up! (These are obviously not the last races I did.)

Moonview Highway
I was doing okay until I accidentally hit a truck in the second lap. Gosh, these things are almost as hard to weave around as Toad's Turnpike on Extra. They move faster than the other traffic courses in the past, and this is the most congested road in Mario Kart yet. On another note, some of these trucks are delivering stuff to and from the Moo Moo Meadows, Toad's Factory, and the Coconut Mall, if you look closely.

GCN Waluigi Stadium
How is it that this course is classified as harder than GCN Mario Circuit? I don't understand. Anyway, by this point, 5942 is the lowest VR for any racer here, and naturally, I find myself surrounded by bikes. It feels so good to hold my own with a kart.

Can you play this game with the NGC controller cause the controls are the same as in DD or not?

@deathboy126 You can use the Gamecube controller if you want. I don't know if the contorls are the same asin Double Dash, however, as I've only used the Wii Wheel.

How do you get a Star, is it completing everyone Grand Prix (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, mirror mode) or getting one star in a certain event. I was also thinking it was getting a certain amount of expert staff ghost but that doesn't make sence. Also what are the advantages of having it set to manual or the other one, what's it called..... I don't remember but what are the advantages of the two? Or is one for pros and one for novices?

You get a star ranking when you achieve at least that rank in every Mario Grand Prix in every engine class. It takes a while, and nothing good really comes of it: It puts a big target mark on your back for everyone else to aim their Red Shells and Spiny Shells at.

Automatic eliminates mini-turbos but allows you to steer very precisely. I don't know what it is, but there's something about it that allows an Automatic user to keep up with a Manual user.

I did, and I have just 3 more, Bowser's Castle, DDR, and RR for Expert Ghosts. I used Daisy on Mach Bike.

Next Mario Kart will be "Mario Bike"

I guess it's unlikely considering how much money would be lost in making it. Seeing as how many people use bikes it may be a side game like "Mario Dirt Bike" or something, it's something to think about. :)

Also I have noticed an increas in people with ranking above 7000, I have 6896 currently and plan on getting to 7000. There has also been an increas in people that don't even race or just sit in there kart at the starting line. It might be a lag.

Yeah, I've picked it up since through my own observations. It's still a very risky move, however, since you're going the opposite direction through traffic on a blind turn.

I choose not to watch world records because it's more fun for me to discover things about the tracks on my own. I don't have the Mario Kart Wii Channel anyway, as I don't have a steady internet connection for WiiConnect24.

I love moonview highway. I win against just about anyone on the stage. You should watch the world record and learn how to use the boost pads for maximum speed. If you know how, from the first toll booth to the second, you can practically boost the entire way.
