Change your rear differential fluid with OEM Honda Dual Pump Fluid II. That is what is causing the noise. Don't use any other fluid, there really is no substitute.

I personally don't like my CRV, but at least they're good in the snow.

@halffedelf All you need is to warm you diferential oil (terrain drive) for 10-15 (using AWD) and replace it (honda original diferential oil). Then go back to terrain and drive for a while....after few days noise will disappear. If not go to Honda service and clean diferential (its not expensive).

@masta7100 Nope, just good tires, good wheel speed and 14psi air pressure. Not bad eh? The chains comment is somewhat of a compliment! Thanks. Unfortunately, like a fishing story, my best off-roading this trip happened without a camera recording...
