you really can feel the water resistance through your controller. It's nice because other boat games till today don't have variation of waves with sideways frontback hitting angles. Therefore you need to steer the jetsky before hitting the water when slightly in air. Because your jetski is a floating object, the harder you drop on water the harder you bounce up.

Awesome turning skills!

What would you rate this game out of 5?? Please tell me soon. Thanks

the water physics in this game was totally amazing for its time.
It really mattered if you hit waves and currents, what a game ahead of its time, felt like you were racing on water for sure.

I played this game for the first time in like the 2nd or 3rd grade. This was one of the best games I have ever played also.

man i remember those songs
Which difficulty setting is it? For some reason I insist on setting my records in Expert :P

Normal
WR64 doesn't keep separate records for the difficulty levels, so on one level Normal will produce the fastest time, while on another Hard will. As far as I see it, to set all your records on Expert, you'd really have to go out of your way to do poorly on Normal and Hard.

Fair enough.
Incidentally, are you using the standard Mariner or did you use custom settings?
I used to use Miles Jetter standard for some courses and custom for others (less grip etc) and I got some really good times by experimenting.
Cheers.

Custom, all the way to Light, Top End and Tight.

I used Miles Jetter (I think that's his name).
Anyway you missed a shortcut. On the first lap, towards the end, there is a jump. Use that, but as you land, push down to make the rider submerge. If done right, you go right under the bridge (which is underwater) and shave a few secs off your time.
I used to love this game when I was at high school.

Mariner produces the best time on every course, making him the only TT choice. The shortcut you mentioned cuts distance, but the speed lost from the ramp+underwater drag+sharper left turn adds at least 0.3 seconds from my experiments. There may be a way to glitch under it without using the ramp, but I don't consider that in the spirit of the game. If anyone can manage a sub-25 second 1st lap using the ramp on NTSC, I'd like to see a video. Not using the ramp I can occasionally manage 24.8
