with such high rents in moscow it is not surprising that many russian women use the down job to make ends meet.

It sucks that housing is so expensinve in Moscow. I work with several professors from Moscow State University who are in a research program in the US for now and they tell me that their salary is about 200usd-300usd in that university and that it barely covers their monthly expenditures for basic needs . Some of them tell me they can't even afford to live by themselfs at times.
