This is it. The 2nd season premiere of Jeopardy! from Monday September 9th, 1985 which is the start of the 2nd set, plus the first episode to institude the 9 timer light strip to indicate that contestants may not ring in until Alex fully reads the question. • Thanks for putting this J! episode up here. Now didn't GSN air this season fully in its early-prime or just a portion of the season Paul? Because a huge percentage of households didn't get GSN at a minimum of 12 hours a day until at least the Dark Period started.

  • @Ivoryman1986 I didn't get GSN until August, 2000 so I would not know.

  • Interesting upload Paul, I once uploaded a 30 second clip from this episode 3-years ago in case you didn't know about that. I'm surprised that you got this episode. By the way, does it seem the copyright issues with Sony is now over? Just curious to know.

  • @cruiseshipz I think it may have lapsed quite a bit since June.

  • Here in Portland, OR, J! began its run on KOIN 6, a tenure that would last between 1984 and 1991. It initially followed the syndicated Wheel of Fortune (which predated the new J! by one year) between 1984 and 1988; then the two shows switched their timeslots late in 1988. Since 1991, both shows found their new home on KATU 2.

  • lol the doughnut commercial...

  • "Jeopardy!" was on KETV (Channel 7) in Omaha from 1984 to 1986. Then it moved to KMTV (Channel 3) in 1986, the same year KMTV switched from NBC to CBS.

  • I was born on this day.

  • @BatmanFan1966 That is the same way that they did it on the UK version.

  • Brat is bread in Germany? I thought it was sausage.

  • Wow, weird to see the returning champion at the 3rd podium and not the first podium.

  • The very same day that the syndicated "$100,000 Pyramid" debuted!! GREAT day in game shows!! :-D

  • During this era of J! from 1984 to 1991, does the contestant with the most money at the end of the Final Jeopardy! round, whether or not he/she answers the Final J! question, wins a "lousy copy of our home game"?
