Why is it racist? I've seen in japanese TV that they want to look like foreigners and they put on a fake nose (bigger lol). is this racist too? :S
come on in spain racism exists (I've been in england and france... etc and I've seen it too) but I really think that this is not racism at all

I know right, You can't lump a whole country or ethnic group because of some rude gestures... Blame the people involve in the picture...
-
I agree you should not have collective judgement, but face the facts, this was an INTERNATIONAL team, both men's, and women's REPRESENTING Spain, that did this offensive gesture. If an American Olympic team did that, the ACLU, and other groups would have a field day, and the entire world would condemn the US more severely. Some people say it's a joke, others say it's entirely racist, but you know, it's all about respect, which is something that this team did not show.

Some spaniards have pointed to this video interview of mainland chinese and said the slanted-eye gesture was not offensive because some mainland chinese responded they felt neutral or not offended when shown the photos. However, if you could understand their answer in chinese, you would know that the people who said they felt neutral or not offended said they did not know the meaning of the gesture or the intent behind the gestures; but other chinese who understand are
very insulted.

you are on and on with the same thing. It is not racism is a joke!!! racism is what americans did with slaves and we laugh about ourselves and about everything but not about Iraq and Vietnam and having chinese eyes is not an insult is not a bad thing for us may be for you is different

However,it seems to be more of a PR game that the American media started off to play with the Spanish. Similar to the game on 'human right' they play with China all along.
-
Just to clarify, I have no problem with your video as a whole.I'm Chinese myself and I don't think the Chinese inside China be offended anyway by the picture,as we don't have this gesture in our culture and don't have any understanding of or feelings towards how other different cultures perceive this gesture differently. But the Chinese community in other country, especially in America and Britain will be offended as this gesture is seen a racist gesture in those areas of the world.

they don't anything about china the spanish don't know nothing about respect about other cultures and shows how racists and insensitive towards other people

Spain hosted the 1992 olympic games (Remember Barcelona 92?) and they did a good job.
Can you imagine having the 2016 Olympics in Spain? The Spaniards would monkey chant and pull their eyes at world class athletes because they think it's cute. No thank you.
The Spaniards are not ready to host. Their mentality towards diversity is too backwards and they need time to become a developed country.

jeje... it´s a Spanish guy that made this video. Thanks for your comment calling me "not ready to host", "mentality towards diversity too backwards"... it sounds funny when I live in China and most of my friends are Chinese. Don´t judge a whole country for a single picture. I´m sure I could find many worse examples from your country.

Ok, I spoke too fast just now, I thought the 'interpreter' in the first interview was with the video maker...

what "interpreter" in the first interview??

Your video is so naive with the intention to influence opionions. The people being interviewed were obviously misled by you! Stop being so silly to manipulate people's view. Hey camera man, stop lying to yourself.

Yes, my video is quite naive, but just because I went to the streets to ask people what they thought about it. I´m Spanish and I don´t have any interest in lying people or say that Chinese didn´t like the picture. This is just what I found, what they told me, without any manipulation or omission.
Of course this is not representative of the whole country, they´re only 10 or 15 Chinese in the video. And, anyways, they have different opinions on it. The world is never black or white.
