  • Hi Phill, some advice please. I live in a flat. The dj-room size is about 40 m² (about 430 square feet in UK?) My first idea was to get the pioneer sdj-05 (about 600 euro). Now the guy from my local shop told me it would be better to go for the KRK rockit 8" for better bass response. A pair of rockit 8" g2 cost the same as the pioneer sdj-05. But i'm worried that 8" will be to loud and will give to much bass :) What is your opinion? My music style is minimal/house/techno.

  • @tquest1 In all honesty if it's too loud, your neighbours won't care which speakers you went for! I am not familiar with the Pioneers but the KRKs are a good sounding speakers. How loud you choose to push it is up to you... ;)

  • Hello, Im having a hard time looking for the Reloop ADM speakers here in the US.... Are they sold here ?

  • @BrooklynStyle106 Yes, but you may have to search a bit for them.

  • Hi Phill, I bought the KRK Rokit G2 8s, only problem is I want to connect them to my laptop to be able to use for listening on my laptop in general and to use on Virtual DJ Pro. What cables and equipment do I need to get it connected? (Preferably the best ones for high sound quality not that they make that much difference)

  • @JamesDeaconUK You just need 1/8" TRS to twin RCAs off the top of my head.

  • Thanks for the reply and I have one more question:

how can speakers with an XLR connection be connected to the back of a controller that doesnt have that same connection ? I've noticed some controllers have this connection where others dont, a bit confusing.......thank you

  • @JamesDeaconUK KRKs are always good and are good value too - look at the smaller ones in the range.

  • Hi Phill, basically I want to buy a new set of active speakers for my laptop. I use Virtual DJ Pro and a Mixtrack Pro to mix. I currently have a Logitech Speaker System Z623 2.1. I'm loving the Sub Woofer but not the Stereo speakers so much. I'm not worried about my budget and I am looking for speakers that have high quality so I can hear the tracks kicks and snares etc. at its best. Not interested in Studio Speakers though because I have no intention to produce. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • @xomi3 Active speakers have a built in amp so they'll have a power lead and volume control. You can then use them with any DJ controller - just get the corresponding lead.
