Prowl is my 2nd fav in the TFA series (Megatron is nr1).
One fact error you made... Prowl isn't assigned to Optimus Primes spaceship of misfits. Bumblebee and Bulkhead accidently destroys Prowls ship while he is meditating on the asteroid where they are clearing rubble from a spacebridge. Optimus offers him a ride on their ship, and in return he asks Prowl to help out

A good review of a very fine character and figure. Actually I think Ratchet was assigned to the ship, mainly due to who the ship is and Bulkhead, well is the only one with the knowledge to handle portal repairs.
If you like this figure, I can only recommend to pick up his rival Oilslick and his nemesis Lockdown (if you haven't already). Actually, for the animated line there are few I cannot recommend and that is on minor parts. F.e. Voyager Prime's axe.

well, the impression i get from the series is that ratchet has been "put out to pasture" as it were, being as that he is an old autobot who has seen his fair share of action. in addition, he acts as a mentor to optimus, kind of like the hot rod/kup/ultra magnus relationship from the G1 cartoon
