@California9 the number 1 is an outside frame Baldwin 2-8-0, similar to that of 40 and 44, but slightly smaller, and is saturated I believe.
-
@California9 a 2-8-0
-
@BHGP1324 what about the 116
-
@Strasburg1991 Well #9 is now out at Georgetown where shes going to be upto date to FRA since we dont run on FRA standards, but I guess #12 will be here at our railroad for good unless our deal sinks and it becomes to expensive for them to update our #9 then all deals are closed they stay with the 12 and we get the #9 and #1 back which doesnt benefit either of us...
-
@BHGP1324 so let me get this straight. # 12 will be operating at the Midwest Central RR for 10 years. even if 2-8-0 # 1s rebuild is complete
-
@California9 Its a 2-8-0 its pretty much like the #40 that use to run at Georgetown before they moved it to the Colorado Rail Museum
-
@California9 its a 2-8-0 consolidation, we got it around 1990 and it has never ran here its just the boiler and its frame and tender, and it has not ran but it needs some major work on it. It came from somewhere down in Mexico
Have you ever heard of Midwest Central railroad in Mt. Pleasant, IA? We and the Georgetown loop are trying to come to an agreement that we lease our shay to them for 10 years at least and take #1 which they will completely rebuild with a boiler overhaul and once they are done with the #1 we will get the shay and I think the #12 in the video here. Thats what i been told I just work there and Thats all i know so far.

@BHGP1324 Thats very interesting news. What type of engine is the #1?

This is very well filmed and wonderfully edited! Great work! I was the fireman on Sat, Aug 28th. I didn't realize the engine sounded so good working up the grade under the High Bridge - once again very nice job with this!
