@scott93257 If Canis Majoris was in the centre of our solar system instead of the sun, it's surface would reach as far as the orbit of saturn which is on average 9.5 AU from Earth (9.5 times the distance between thef the sun and Earth or 1.5 Billion miles). It took New Horizons nearly 2 and a half years to reach saturn at 16 kps from Earth, so for NH to do 1 orbit around Canis Majoris would take roughly 4-5 times as long. A space shuttle is almost half as fast as NH aswell.
ahhh yes...you are speaking my language now...I am so in to Space travel, Universes, Planets, Stars...220 Kilometers per second the sun is going? That is amazing... I think I am amazed most by the sheer size of some stars like the largest known star... VY Canis Majoris... Question...If it were possible to fly around the star at say 15,000 mph. how long would it take to fly completely around? They say the diameter of the star is 2 billion miles...
@scott93257 If I remember the fastest man made vehicle ever is the New Horizon space probe which is currently moving at 16.2 kilometers per second racing towards Pluto. Thats very fast but there is faster stuff out there, the sun is flying around the core of the galaxy at 220 kilometers per second, imagine the energy needed to do that to something like the sun.

@NANOFORGE
I would have to agree with you 100%

@scott93257 Yeah land vehicle but I am talking about the fastest manned vehicle ever.

@scott93257
But as far as what you meant, yes I would have to agree

@NANOFORGE
A top fuel Nitro dragster is the fastest accelerating land vehicle on earth...Period

@Oikeroi it dont matter though 15000 is very fast but you wouldnt notice much movement when in space

@NANOFORGE A space shuttle can pull about 3g acceleration, thats including the 1g you get simply from gravity.
