Airdate 11-02-08. CBS's offbeat correspondent Bill Geist goes to Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, where 9 dogs, one three-legged dog, a feline & a lovable donkey are campaigning for mayor of this small town. (Hey, I like donkeys. Don't you?) It's a campaign where votes are literally bought & paid for, all for charity to the Historical Society. Well, at least all the candidates are thoroughly vetted. (More than you can say for Sarah Palin!) CBS' Washington editor Bob Schieffer even weighs in on the race. You can even vote online at rabbithashusa.com!
Kudos to this segment! Bill, it was a delight to meet you and your team. Sure hope you can come back some day!

Long live Rabbit Hash! I was there a few months ago -- bought a nifty engraved flask at the Gen'l Store, of which I've been making much use lately. My country cousin, Mike Fletcher, is a fixture there. Hey, Thatcher!
May the best dog/cat/jackass win!
