  • Man i just got goosebumps. I was 9 years old and actually recall watching this game at home with my dad on prism..one of my fondest childhood memories. When JJ scored the whole city went ballistic. The 87 flyers team was like the NHL's version of ROCKY. They will always be my favorite, especially hexy. Thanx for posting this man.

  • No problem thatnks for watching.

  • markussaid: I'm a lifelong Flyers fan. I bleed orange & black. I was at this game. I was all of 26 years old. Had seats 13 rows from the ice at the blue line. As Jim Jackson (Flyers announcer) says "the walls shook", that is not an exaggeration. When JJ Daignault scored, the Spectrum went completely "nuts". I was at the VET in '80 when the Phils won the World Series, but game 6 against Edmonton was louder. One of my best memories EVER!

  • I have never heard a building that loud again...I was 17 years old....Im now 41 and in that 24 years I never heard another building (and I have seen many sports in many places) NEVER heard a building that loud....it was as if we ALL yelled at once and for a SPLIT second ALL the oxygen went out....it was UNREAL!!

  • Great memories of this team, wonderfully talented and such balls! It took an Edmonton team that ranks as one of the best ever to finally take them down. Hoping they can pull it off this year!

  • hextall was an over dramatic bitch sometimes

  • I was there!!! In the runway outside the lockerroom getting ready for postgame or OT. I thought the building was gonna cave in. Brings a tear to my eye!!!!

  • My dad brought me to this game, I was only 8 years old. When Propp scored to tie, it was easily the loudest I've ever heard anything in my life... only thing louder was when JJ scored to take the lead. Everything was shaking, the floor the walls, it was completely insane. I've been to a lot of other games since, but nothing has ever matched that. Gonna miss the old building.

  • After Game 4 when the Flyers were down 3-1, The mayor of Edmonton made the mistake of announcing plans for the Oilers parade when they win Game 5! That pissed everybody off in Philly and gave the Flyers the motivation to keep fighting!

  • My grandpa was at this game and he said that you could still feel the floor trembling after the crowd had settled. He said what the announcer said about the walls shaking wasnt over exaggerated and it couldnt get any louder than that.

  • We would have if Game 7 was in Philly

  • That was the grittiest Flyers team ever. That oilers team was perhaps the most prolific team in NHL history, and the injury riddled Flyers gave them hell. I'll never forget that goal.

  • I don't know man...Tim Kerr scored 58 goals for the Flyers that year. He would literately just stand in front of the net and deflect pucks into the net all the time...that's how he scored so much. He was IMPOSSIBLE to move when in front of the goalie. Brian Propp said "the only way to contain Tim Kerr is to tie him up in chains...but even then you probably couldn't stop him." It wasn't just Kerr though, the Flyers were decimated with injuries to key players.
