Days have gone by and its now time for Lexis funeral. Nana and I have been sleeping on Hannah's floor and not sleeping. And when I do sleep, I see Lexi and I wake up with beads of sweat dripping down my face and with tears burning tracks into my cheeks. Nana wakes up with the same thing. But today is one of the worst days of our lives, its Lexi's funeral. I never thought her funeral would be this soon.
I looked at her cold, stiff, lifeless body in the blue satin lined casket. She looked like a blonde china doll. I turned around and bumped into someone. "Oh im so sorry." I say. I look up and see a pair of beautiful chocolate colored eyes. "No its my fault." He says. His voice sounds so perfect too! He had brown curly hair, and he was dressed in white dress shirt with black dress pants and shoes.
He was perfect. "Im Kelly." I stutter. He chuckles. "Gage." He says as he kisses the top of my left hand. I blush. Seeing him makes me feel a little bit better. But whats odd about him is that he seems so familiar. Wait, he said Gage. I wonder if hes my friend Gage from 2nd grade. "Whats your last name?" I ask. "Bezak. Yours?" He asks. I knew it! He was Gage Bezak from Mrs. McClarneys 2nd grade class. "Jones. Did you have Mrs McClarney for your 2nd grade teacher in Summerton Elementary school?" I ask. Its a stupid question because what if hes a different Gage Bezak. "Yes. Wait, your Kelly Jones?" He asks. I nod. I take a glance over at Nana and I see her and Stefan flirting. I knew they would hit it off.
It came time to say out goodbyes and Gage and I sat next to Nana Hannah and Stefan in the 2nd row. They didnt want to be so close to her. Nothing felt real anymore. After the funeral, Stefan and Hannah had Nana and I go to the back and watch Lexi be cremated with their parents. I cried and as I walked to Stefans car, I threw up. I felt four hands on my back. One pair soft and small, and the other big, rough and strong. I look up and see Gage. "Sorry." I say again.
"You need to stop apologizing. Nothing is your fault Kell." He says with a smile. I was smiling like an idiot but Nana snapped be back to reality. We rode to the turners resturant they owned only a block away from their hosue for lunch. Hannah and her boyfriend, Stefan and Nana, and Gage and I all sat at a table together and ate and laughed. I needed this and I hoped that Gage and I would hang out for mine and Nanas remainding time here because he is SOOOO adorable!!!!
