This is my first performance as part of University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Piano Ensemble in the fall of 2004. The ensemble is under the direction of Tatiana Kasman, wife of Van Cliburn Silver Medalist Yakov Kasman, piano professor and artist in residence at UAB. Lower keyboard played by me, Anand Iyer, a 2nd-year med student at UAB, and upper played by Kevin Woosley, a grad student at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.

  • Are you sure you didn't skip a bar before the "first violin" entrance of the main theme the first time...?

  • it sounds like matthew bellamy!!

  • Magnificent, the both of you. Thank you for posting this treasure.

  • I suggest either buy or look at your local library for LEslie Howard's recordings.I believe it's on the same CD as Hexameron which is DEFINITLY worth looking into at the same time( Liszt.,Chopin and Thalberg and other great pianists composed the work together! Liszt doing most of the work and the others each adding a variation.) But yeah, back to your question, Leslie Howard recorded it , along with the complete piano works by Liszt ( ALL versions)

  • do you know where i can listen to Liszt's transcription of this symphony?

  • Extraordinário!
