  • Wow!! i cant believe that my old sparring partner had passed away. I moved to Denver in 92 and Frank Pena happened to be one of my sparring partners back then. Tom quinn our manager said he had trained Frank since he was young and I said yeah! that guy had a mean left hook Frank did & but he will always be a champion in my book. Young lady your father was a good man.

    God Bless,

    Anthony Brown

  • @ant225zel Hey Anthony, great to hear from you. You were a very entertaining pro boxer yourself, and I enjoyed watching your bouts that I was able to attend or watch on tv. Yes, I was very sad to hear of Frank's passing. He is missed. Take care, again, great to hear from you- hope you are doing well!

  • You mean this Frank Pena is dead? Boxing Record doesn't say anything that he died. When did he die? Record shows that he was born in 1971. Which means he died too young?

  • Yes, Frank died too young. His cousin contacted me about video of his fights, and confirmed that he did die some years ago. I don't know the details of what happened, but Frank was an outstanding athlete, and is missed as a person by many.

I miss you dad,i was just thinking of you :( And decided to look up this video that my mom showed me awhile back.Well i love and miss you...

  • I used to be a member of Frank's Boxing team in Aurora Colorado when we were kids. I just was wondering about his career the other day and googled him. I am really sorry to hear about his passing. I remember him as a happy kid who liked joking around, but was tough and 100% business when the gloves were on. The Pena family was very warm to me, I remember his dad had me over for dinner once after I lost a fight. Best wishes and prayers to Frank and his loved ones.

  • Pena was a very good boxer. I always though the dude was gonna be champion. I saw him fight on ESPN many times, I always wondered what happened with him.Sad to hear he died..
