Musician and illustrator Jeffrey Lewis constructs a time lapse, large scale illustration, while his performance is rotoscoped into a comic book cartoon, all his own. "To Be Objectified" is from the album " 'Em Are I'" by Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard, set to be released in the US May of 2009 on Rough Trade Records.

  • go watch american idol

  • very talented people become well known

  • the video is just great I love it!

  • I want that illustration! Lithograph please...

  • Its jeffrey doing the drawing to. He's a pretty spiffing cartoonist as well as songwriter and singer.

  • I would pay at least 99$ for that picture if he was ever interested in getting his money back lol

  • Wow! I love Jeffs way of telling stories in his songs. Was this video done in after effects? Its really to bad about all the free information though! Anyhow its one of my all time favorite music videos!!!

  • It's someone playing guitar, someone drawing a picture, and some snazzy effects. It's not that hard to believe that it was $99, especially if you already have the camera.

    Still an amazing song nonetheless

  • Great lyrics. I never thought of it that way. Yet, liking to see bits of yourself in other mediums*, such as pictures or texts, also has something to do with vanity, I guess. That's the obvious and boring point of view, though. This song really gives you a hole new perspective to the whole issue of leaving traces behind.

    * Wait... probably the human body itself is a collection of different mediums.
