Well its more m4 pattern is preffered (even though m4 is ar-15 pattern but whatever) because many SF's use the CAR-15 and C7 rather than the M4

@Algastar There is no "weapon of Choice" for Tier 1 operators. That might b what a website said. Those I have worked all had different opinions. Most can and do bring what they want, customized to the mission. Every man on the team has a different role and weapon. The M4 has a bad Rep in "The Stan" but if ur a professional, u will keep it immaculate like ur life depends on it, because it does. Were not going to win any M4 arguments. some operators love it, some hate it. Its what Im issued.

@yesiamawizardjonny the M4 is the preferred weapon of choice for Navy SEALs and Green Berets and just about all the other special ops units

@darkpigen Yeah man, I think the m4 serves a small purpouse in todays combat. In Afghanistan we get in like 800m firefights, which defeats the purpose of a small carbine like the M4A1

Opinions very. Shorter Barrel often means less distance. There is more recoil on the M4 and that places you off target more between shots at a distance... and the M4 needs to be ultra clean to prevent jamming. I would not use the M4 for CQB by choice... my choice would be a pistol or MP5 over the M4. The 16 is good for a longer distance. The M4 use to be synonymous with Spec-War. Just like the Boonie Cover, Marines all want to be Ricky Recon! The M4 will never be used in Color/Honor Guards.
