The Netherland's Health Care System - "Managed Competition" - Could this be a solution for the US?

The Dutch health care system has no public option but instead there's a government ministry that sets and enforces strict guidelines on what private insurance companies can and cannot do. The abuses by US insurance companies are avoided. All citizens are required by law to purchase health insurance. There is much here for the Americans to copy. The Dutch system ranks highest in an European survey on health care satisfaction. 8-10-2009 broadcast.

Socialism is a diverse Political Ideology

@FRSFreeStateES to me and my comrades Democratic Socialism means something different because we spend a lot of our time looking out for minorities and so forth, so its evolved into something completely different to what our comrades in Sweden, Norway and indeed the rest of Continental Europe to what they would call Socialism

Well that would be Classical Socialism where government runs at least one aspect of the economy. But then there's Democratic Socialism like in Sweden. Where you have a mix of Public and Private Services in the economy. Socialize Medicine is where government runs the Healthcare System or at least part of it.
