  • Thank you Civ IV for introducing me to this amazing composer!!

  • I was asked to search for this piece, and it sounded familiar. I then found out that all of the modern music in Civ IV is composed by John Adams...probably because that's the one of the few things people can stand listening to while they spend hours trying to launch a spaceship

  • When I hear 1:39 to 2:12, it makes me feel like I have discovered "The Corporation" and "Capitalism". Also, it reminds me of a bustling NYC street.

  • As much as I love Civ V, the only thing I really miss is hearing John Adams' music reflect the hope and despair of the modern era

  • I just saw the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra perform this with Edo de Waart conducting this past Saturday; it was... inspiring to say the least.

  • Nero recently sampled this track for their track "Doomsday".

  • My composition teacher introduced me to this composer. I'm so glad she did! I've never played CiV, but I kind of want to now.

  • Love it - be listening to this a lot..

  • i heard this by accident when my civ songs got synced to my ipod.

  • @MrCoolManTim Check out the album cover for "There Goes Rhymin' Simon", then claw your eyes out.

  • Wow, this has to take the biscuit as being the ugliest piece of album artwork I have ever seen!

  • Long live tonality!
