@Leiryn couple of similarities, both bands have long ass songs, both bands have a heard bass "unlike most other bands, their basses can be heard", both have a heavy distorted guitar and bass to make it sound muffled, and of coarse, both are good bands,their might be more, but this is all i can say 4 now...

If you listened to Godflesh, you would know that the drummer is copying their drum machine style. In fact, much of their style is very Godflesh/Swans influenced.
-
@dirtyvandal His sense of tempo is off. His feel (dynamics, playing in the pocket) just doesn't feel right. The drummer from Isis is everything that this guy is not.
-
@dashofchutmeg why do u think ?
-
YO!

I don't get why their drummer gets so much crap for being bad. I think his playing is tasteful and fits with the music perfect. not too busy or trying to be anything more than complimentary to the over all sound
-
God, the drummer is so bad.
-
what a shit reception at the end >:(

somebody check out the video i did for the same song in Austin....and subscribe to my channel
Yes, this is normally not allowed in music, but in the unusual situation that two guys in a single band should actually both be good guitarists, the rock police let such tomfoolery slide.

Pelican is great. Tool is great. Their different kinds of bands, different genres. Both have a way of transcending, in my opinion, but they are still different. I love them both, for different reasons. This is a fantastic song.
