I went from 35mph to 120+mph in a roll-on in top gear. The cam/carbs come in to there own at 4000rpm (will rev to 7000rpm). Sorry about the bumps and the jump from 110mph to where i am slowing down to 120mph(I reached 130mph). This is a classic 1970 Holden 202 6 cylinder Torana built to 1973 XU-1 specs including many standard parts!

  • shakes like a bitch , sorry shakes like a typicyle GM , death wobble

  • @RReaper100 Not quite sure what you are talking about with death wobble, maybe your enlighten us. Maybe you could tell or even better show me what a 1970 car without suspension mods apart from sports shocks should drive like?

  • Just an update on the speed I have achieved out of this car, I am still running the same spec engine and have been working on the tune a bit. At the last 1/4 mile drag meeting I was running standard pump unleaded an had 2 runs of over 107mph and finished with a fastest time of 12.995@106.81mph on standard street tires, stock 4-speed and clutch and a LSD and I drive this on the street but not in the rain ;)

  • i think he clocked more then 120mph what do these xu1's actualy clock?

  • @maltesephoenician it really depends on gearing and the spec of them, this is probably capable of close to 140mph with the right gearing. 130-135 is the norm though

  • Awesome car mate just awesome!! I have one too but not that quick...GTR with XU1 spec motor!! About 240hp. Mate raced one with 310hp at the flywheel so I guess that would run into the 12s at the strip! Funny how many don't realise how fast these cars are eh!!

  • that thing goes

  • Man that sounds awesome!!
