Music specially composed by John Parry of Wobbly Picture Productions.

24 hours compressed into 3 minutes 42 seconds. Shot with a Mitchell S35 with self built auto iris, shutter angle and time exposure control. Cooke Varotal 20-100. Self built motion control is a Mini Moy geared head with PC controlled stepper motors allowing the creation of smooth ramped moves and control in fractions of degrees.

  • so are you riding the iris or is it driving itself??

  • Its in the description.

I would add that I have two servo motors controlled by an LDR (Light Dependant Resistor) One servo is operating the iris by way of a timing belt and the other servo is operating the variable shutter angle of the Mitchell. As soon as the shutter angle is at the greatest angle I start to increase the exposure time of each shot with the software that I wrote on the Psion 3a which is controlling the camera motor.

I'm happy to describe it more fully offline.

  • A superb piece of filming. The pictures and the music really compliment each other. A very lovely piece of work.

  • Nicely put together. I can appreciate the effort involved in doing time lapse.

  • At least we all learnt what a choad is lol.

I'm studying in Southampton, and I ain't coming back to Gravesend when I've finished. It's not what it used to be!

  • Really nice to watch. Reminds me of going to work with my Dad on the Tugs. Good memories

  • Thats ok i just thought you were being a little harsh to me!!

  • Oh sorry i thought u were saying that the video 'wasn't Gravesend', i understand now. Gravesend is getting better, however it's a new breed of rough people than 5 years ago, what with all the immigrants thinking they own the place.

    apologies

  • You cant tell me everyone who live's there are rough?
