I bought this 2012 Ford Focus new 3 weeks ago. It has spent 1.5 weeks at the dealership for repairs. The climate control broke the day I drove it home. The 1 touch up 1 touch down window broke a week later when I took it back from them. Now I'm noticing problems on the inside and Tedd Britt Ford refused to take it back. They keep saying they will make repairs. Waiting to hear from Ford HQ

  • @GlockNinja They did not take any bail out money. Chevy and Chrysler did. Ford had been making better cars over the last few years until recently when they decided to fill them full of electronics to attract more buyers and cheapened the other parts in order to pay for the new features

  • its a first gen of the new body style. deal with it. Ive worked at Honda, C.J.D. and Toyota/Scion, any time a brand new car comes out there will be issues, like the mystery rattle in the recent Civic Si coupe and sedan or the loud bump over tiny pot holes on the old focus... its a first gen, ask Ford to fix it and Im sure if you approach the situation like an adult they will be more than willing to work with you... and on a side note dont be a baby about stuff like this its built in mexico ;)

  • @stockbogger Ford has refused to fix all of the problems except for the sticking door and the emergency brake. I am completely aware that the first model year always has kinks to be ironed out. That is not the case with this car. It's not like it has 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 problems. It idles rough like my sister's old saturn. The window buttons only work 3/4 of the time. The remote lock/unlock only works 1/2 the time. The car shutters every time it goes in and out of first. The list goes on and on

  • Lemon law, dude. Check it out.

  • @mystake It hasn't hit those limits yet. either 30 total days in the shop in the first 18 months or 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the same problem. I am keeping records though so I can prove when I reach one of those.

  • I feel for you man, in 1984 I bought a brand new Escort in the showroom. I think Ford Motor Corporation put all of it's troubles into this one car. Last Ford for me. I wish you all the luck from the dealer, I had none from the dealer or Ford.

  • @HoschtonBoy I really liked my 2008 focus except for the premature/uneven tire wear from the soft suspension. I haven't had any luck yet with Ford about the steering wheel, the dash, or the passenger door so I'm going to talk to have to talk to a lawyer in a few days.

  • Every car will be a little bit different, And fit and finsh stuff is hard to get right unless your paying alot more.

  • @notreallyhere1022

Ford may be aware of the lemon law to the point where they refuse to take it in. If thats the case take it to another well-known shop so you can accumulate those 30 days and get your money back.

  • this is the beauty of .internet where you can read about other people who have the same car that iam considering and see how they like it.needless to say, because of videos like this and others that i have seen regarding 2012 ford focus issues i will not even consider purchasing one.sorry for your issues.dump the pos ford while you can and get a elantra.

  • @higbull a car can be *assembled* on the moon parts are still going to be imported elsewhere, mexico china germany take a basic economics class and you'll learn the facts. the fact is buy a car that you like who cares who makes it.

  • SORRY DUDE BUT@0:40 WAS PRETTY FUNNY&I LAUGHED OUT LOUD WHEN I WATCHED THE VIDEO..LOL!!!

  • WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE SAYING "BUILT FORD TOUGH...LMAO!!!"

  • shuld have buy a BMW:)

  • Never buy first batch of cars...

building cars aren't as automated as you might expect

human error is a common practice when it comes to car assembly.

  • @notreallyhere1022 the tranny shuttering going in and out of first gear is a problem with this and the fiesta that ford never fixed during development. they're all like this at low speeds and with first. ford didn't really polish it up like its competitors, shouldnt affect the longevity of the tranny though. sorry for all the bs you've had to deal with, dealerships suck at service. and yes that is a golden rule to follow, never buy the first model year of cars new or used.

  • @stockbogger I'm sure he'd be more understanding if they didn't charge the same tens of thousands of dollars for the car as if it were a perfectly working model.
